PREPARING YOUR RECYCLABLES




 

Under a contractual agreement, Republic Waste Services provides the recycling services.  The following materials will be accepted:

 

            ·  Newspapers

            ·  Cardboard

            ·  Chipboard (cereal boxes)

            ·  Clear Glass

            ·  Tin

            ·  Plastics #1 & #2

            ·  Styrofoam

·  Mixed papers (office papers,                 

    junk mail, phone books &

    magazines)

 

 

Clinton Township provides a recycling drop-off site at 2025 W. Michigan (take the driveway to Storage Max and recycling bins located on West side of driveway).

 

The rural recycling program provides recycling opportunities as an alterative to land filling.  The use of recycled materials conserves natural resources and helps extend the life of valuable landfill space.

 

 

 

 

GLASS

-         should be clean & empty

-         remove lids

-         labels can stay

-         NO BROKEN GLASS, window glass or non-container glass

 

 

 

PLASTICS #1 & #2

-         rinse

-         remove lids and rings

-         crush to save space

 

 

 

CHIPBOARD (Cereal boxes)

-         remove paper/wax paper inserts

-         crush to save space

 

 

 

NEWSPAPERS

-         should be clean and dry

-         remove all glossies and inserts

-         DO NOT BUNDLE with string or ropes

-         May be placed in paper grocery bags

 

 

MIXED PAPERS

-         should be clean and dry

-         includes office paper, junk mail, phone books and magazines

 

 

 

 

TIN/ALUMINUM

-         remove all labels

-         no aerosol, paint or solvent containers

-         no aluminum foil, aluminum pie tins or aluminum food trays

 

 

 

CARDBOARD

-         cut into pieces no larger than two square feet

-         needs to be tied and bundled
