Village of Clinton

The meeting opened at 7:00 pm.

 

The Village Clerk swore in newly elected council members Dianne Davis, Doris Kemner, and Bonnie Peters.

 

Members present were President Mowery, Dianne Davis, Carl Habrick, Larry Sines, Joe Orban, Bonnie Peters, and Doris Kemner.

 

Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Davis to approve the October 4, 2010 and November 1, 2010 council minutes.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Council was in favor of sending letters of appreciation to Todd Morgan and Laurence Peters for their years of service as Village Council Members.

 

Council was updated on the federal and state historic tax credits for improvements in the downtown historical district.

 

Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Orban to adopt Resolution Number 10-11.  A resolution to amend electrical rates and charges.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Davis to go into close session to discuss union contracts. Motion carried unanimously with a roll call.  Close session started at 7:33 pm.

 

Motion was made by Habrick and seconded Orban by to go into open session.  Open session started at 7:50pm.

 

Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Peters to ratify the DPW, Supervisor, and police contracts, and authorize the Village Manager to execute the three union contracts.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

The Village Manager updated Council on Eden Food’s installing $475,000 of new equipment, and that holiday lights will be going up next week.

 

Motion was made by Habrick to use colored Holiday lights on the downtown trees.  Motion failed with lack of support.

 

The following comments were from Council.  Dianne Davis said that there is a display at the Clinton Library for their 25 years history and that Tecumseh Road looks great.  Doris Kemner stated that she is honored to be serving on Council. 

 

Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Orban to adjourn.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

The meeting adjourned at 8:02 pm.
