Village of Clinton

October 6, 2008

 

The meeting opened at 7:00pm.

 

Members present were President Mowery, Dianne Davis, Carl Habrick, Laurence Peters, Larry Sines, Joe Orban, and Todd Morgan.

 

Motion was made by Peters and seconded by Morgan to approve the council minutes from September 3, 2008.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Mr. Keith Brown from Congressman Tim Walburg’s office addressed Council to see how the economy is affecting the district.

 

Motion was made by Peters and seconded by Orban to approve the checks written for the period ending September 30, 2008.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Mr. Gary Owen presented the 2008 audit.

 

Motion was made by Morgan and seconded by Sines to adopt Resolution Number 08-11.  A resolution authorizing the transfer of funds from the Tate Park Trust to the General Fund.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion was made by Orban and seconded by Morgan to adopt Resolution Number 08-12.  A resolution authorizing the transfer of funds from the Robison Trust to the Sewer Fund.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Davis to authorize the execution of the CMAQ contract with MDOT.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Council discussed the brush collection policy.

 

Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Peters to receive and file the council information packet.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion was made Sines and seconded by Morgan to accept the Michigan Municipal League ballot as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion was made by Davis and seconded by Peters to approve the execution of the amended uniform video franchise agreement with Comcast.  Motion carried with Sines voting no.

 

The following comments were from Council.  Dianne Davis said how nice the Fall Festival was, Carl Habrick said more trees were needed at Michigan Pallot, and wanted an update on the pea stone problem at the ball fields at Tate Park, Joe Orban wanted to know if the loading dock at the Clinton Woolen Mill was going to be taken down, and Todd Morgan asked why the swings were taken down at Tate Park.

 

Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Orban to adjourn.  Motion carried unanimously.
