Village of Clinton
July 2, 2007
The meeting opened at 7:00pm.
Members present were President Mowery, Dianne Davis, Laurence Peters, Larry Sines, Joe Orban, and Todd Morgan. Carl Habrick was absent.
Motion was made by Peters and seconded by Sines to approve the Council minutes of June 4, 2007 and June 18, 2007. Motion carried unanimously.
The public hearing opened at 7:02pm. The purpose of the hearing was to receive public comments on the proposed satellite dish ordinance. The public hearing closed at 7:04pm.
Motion was made by Orban and seconded by Davis to table action pending further information. Motion carried unanimously.
Council discussed the local services commercial district ordinance. Council tabled action pending further information.
Council was updated on the Southern Michigan railroad Society property maintenance.
Motion was made by Morgan and seconded by Peters to approve the checks written for the month ending June 30, 2007. Motion carried unanimously.
Council was updated on the Clinton Fire Department budget.
Council was updated on the Tate Park pedestrian bridge cost and financing.
Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Davis to award the DPW pickup truck bid to Clinton Tecumseh Ford in the amount of $13,799.30. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Orban and seconded by Morgan to adopt Resolution Number 07-17. A resolution to increase the building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and zoning fees. Motion carried unanimously.
Council was updated on the MERS retirement funding level.
Motion was made by Davis and seconded by Peters to authorize the Village Manager to put Mr. Brown on notice that the Clinton Woolen Mill was in violation of the Property Maintenance Code. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Orban and seconded by Peters to adopt the amended Police Training Consortium Agreement. Motion carried unanimously.
Council discussed renovating the community entrance signs. Council was receptive. More information will be available for the August meeting.
Council was updated on the Tate Park pedestrian bridge phase I study.
Motion was made by Peters and seconded by Morgan to receive and file the Council information packet. Motion carried unanimously.
The following comments were from Council. Dianne Davis mentioned how nice it was to have the youth center for the kids. Larry Sines stated the grass under the Fall Festival sign has not been mowed.
Motion was made by Peters and seconded by Morgan to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
