Village of Clinton

The meeting opened at 7:00 pm.
Members present were President Mowery, Dianne Davis, Carl Habrick, Laurence Peters, Larry Sines, Joe Orban and Todd Morgan.
Motion was made by Peters and seconded by Orban to approve the minutes from the April 6, 2009 and April 20, 2009, meetings. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Morgan to approve the checks written for the period ending April 30, 2009. Motion carried unanimously.
Council was not in favor of contributing to Lenawee Economic Development.
Council was updated on the transformer maintenance work.
Council was updated on the Tate Park Grant project.
Motion was made by Orban and seconded by Morgan to approve Resolution Number 09-08. A resolution to designate May as Motorcycle Awareness month. Motion carried unanimously.
Council discussed proposed changes to the Peddlers and Solicitors Ordinance.
Council expressed concerns about the proposed Outside Wood Burning Furnace Ordinance.
Council was updated on the master plan goals and objectives.
Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Peters to receive and file the Council information packet. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Morgan to adopt Resolution Number 09-09. A resolution of support for Police Week and to observe May 15, 2009 as Peace Officers Memorial Day. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Davis and seconded by Orban to authorize the senior rebates in the amount of $5,538.54. Motion carried unanimously.
The Village Manager updated Council on the Tecumseh Road construction project.
The following comments were from Council. Larry Sines commented on the yard conditions at Harvest Ridge Subdivision. Todd Morgan was asked by an individual about additional play equipment for younger children at Tate Park. Dianne Davis asked who was responsible for the roof at CJ’s. President Mowery commented on the garbage at the skate park.
Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Orban to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
