Village of Clinton
January 7, 2008
The meeting opened at 7:00 pm.
Members present were President Mowery, Dianne Davis, Carl Habrick, Laurence Peters, Larry Sines, Joe Orban, and Todd Morgan.
Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Orban to approve the open and closed Council meeting minutes of December 3, 2007. Motion carried unanimously.
A resident of Sunset Drive addressed Council on a storm water drainage problem.
Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Peters to approve the checks written for the period ending December 31, 2007. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Peters and seconded by Davis to approve the Council and Planning Commission meeting dates for 2008. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Morgan to approve the following reappointments. Downtown Authority (2yr. Term); Merlin Mowery, Francis Conway, J.D. Lancaster, Michael Butzke, Patricia Butzke, and Jackie Proctor. Planning Commission (2 yr. Term); Ann Mason, Chair, Jerry Shadley, Helen Dixon, and Evan Kirby. Zoning Board of Appeals (3 yr. Term); Robert Jann, Kevin Baughey, Francis Conway, Alternate, Dick Faust, Planning Commission Member. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Sines and seconded by Orban to approve the Council Committee Appointments. Motion carried with Habrick voting no.
Council was updated on the Fire Departments budget.
Council discussed the electric cost of service study.
Council discussed the Clinton Little League agreement for Tate Park.
Council discussed changing the Village dental and optical coverage from a fiscal year to a calendar year.
Council was updated on the Woolen Mill cleanup. It has been request that a detailed construction schedule be giving to the Village by January 14, 2008.
Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Morgan to receive and file the Council information packet. Motion carried unanimously.
The Village Manager updated council on an invoice from MDOT for the pedestrian bridge.
The following comments were from Council. Carl Habrick asked if there was any information on the property West of the Village, and about the grain elevator being removed. Dianne Davis encouraged everyone to vote. Larry Sines said at US-12 and the High School entrance there was water freezing and it is very slippery.
Motion was made by Habrick and seconded by Orban to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
